My family has lived in EGR for 55 tears.. I oppose the proposed Gaslight Village Development plan currently before the EGR City Commission because it will massively unnecessarily transform EGR from a small Village to an urban city.. This proposed development does not fit the charm and charisma of EGR nor does it meet the requirements of the Master Plan and PUD rules and regulations. It is a massive and transformative development forcing EGR in a direction the majority of EGR residents if they were properly informed of this development do not want. No one moved to EGR because [t was a city No one lives in EGR because it is a city. No one did not move to EGR because Gaslight is not developed and has not been developed for the past 20 years. NO ONE. People move here because EGR is a small high quality charming suburb, with green space and a lake, with great schools, geeat public safety, and with an all American Hallmark card neighborhood charisma and atmosphere.. This proposed development by its sheer size, packed on this small landlocked space, with an ultra modern design, and urban goals does not enhance EGR but ruins it. No other concept plan has been offered by the developer. And what is especially disturbing is that the City is apparently embracing this proposed development plan without knowing what the ‘concept’ plan really is or how it affects EGR or whether EGR can habdle it or whether EGR residents want it today in 2025. because no traffic study has been done, no parking study has been done, no environmental impact study has been done (no green space is proposed in this development at all ), no infrastructure study has been done, or any open transparent feedback or vote from EGR residents has been solicited. The developer estimates that this development could add 9000 cars per day to EGR. In addition, residents are not being fully and transparently informed of a potential 20 year tax abatement for the developer or a Brownfield financial rebate advantage for the developer. All information about this Gaslight Development is minimally published on the City website buried under the headings of Master Plan or PUD with no reference to the Gaslight Development. Furthermore, the City is not considering the precedential effect this development will have in Gaslight.. If this proposed development is approved. what is to stop the adjacent Lakeshore Apts from going to 7 stories? What is to stop adjacent D&W from going to 7 stories? NOTHING. And i do not want that in or for EGR or in my backyard. Therefore for all the reasons I have stated above and more, I oppose this development as proposed. I do not oppose a materially and substantially modified and reduced development of Gaslight with no buildings ovef 3 stories, a significant reduction in the number of buildings, significant greenspace included in the plan, no ultra modern design, condos only, no tax abatement to the developer or financial benefit to the developer at the expense of EGR taxpayers, and open transparent information to all EGR residents including opportunities for resident feedback on all aspects of this development going forward. With city transparency and everyone working together everyone can get what they want here and Gaslight and EGR will be enhanced yet remain the same small, high quality charming charismatic suburb it is, and has always been. Thank you for listening and considering my comments
