Private walking route

This neighborhood with towering trees is quiet, shaded and peaceful. It would be ideal to keep it as residential as possible. While there is a condo building and 3 businesses present that presumably were built before zoning, the neighbors consistently communicate the desire to remain zoned as SFR. Another data point is that all the of homes are maintained well.

With the incoming development of the property behind D&W and the large increase in residents, sidewalks and crossing zones need to be updated. One is a sidewalk on the south side of Greenwood at the Lakeside & Greenwood intersection.

Considering desire for safe routes to school and the awkwardness of cars backing into the intersection from the business/residence at the northwest corner (former Heritage House) and the busier Greenwood & Lakeside intersection…a suggestion is to have a gravel path on the city connector between Lansing and Durrant that connects to Greenwood at the location of the businesses. I’m guessing that would be an easement through the business property.

Across the street on Lakeside is DNR land (510 Lakeside & 2205 Reeds Lake Blvd) with an existing half arc parking lot. A urban wooded playground geared for toddler to 5 years old would be amazing at that location. Fencing and a gate to keep kids safely away from roads Gould be necessary. This location is walkable and parkable, away from water hazard and would not disrupt the serenity of waterfront park.
